Bangladesh women's cricket team has won the fourth consecutive victory in the World Cup qualifiers. With this victory, along with playing in the final, Bangladesh also confirmed the ticket to the main stage of next year's T20 World Cup. Bangladesh women won by 11 runs in the semi-final match against Thailand on Friday night.
The Bangladesh team came to bat earlier today in Abu Dhabi. They can score 113 runs for 5 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Chasing this target, the Thai women scored 102 runs for 6 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
After losing the toss and batting, Bangladesh scored 27 runs without losing any wicket in 6 overs. After that, the pace of the run slows down. At the end of 15 overs, the score stood at 68 runs for 3 wickets. Later, experienced all-rounder Romana Ahmed pulled the team under pressure. Due to his batting Bangladesh added 45 runs losing 2 more wickets in the last 5 overs. Romana scored 28 runs off 24 balls in an unbeaten innings.
Chasing the target of 113 runs given by Bangladesh, the Thai women scored 102 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Nathakham Chantham alone scored 64 runs for the team.
With this victory, the women of Bangladesh made it to the main stage of the T20 World Cup. The Women's Twenty20 World Cup will be held in South Africa in February next year.
Bangladesh women will face Ireland women in the final of the qualifying round on September 25.
